Get about 20 quarters and all 4 brands of paper towels 2. Start with Bounty and fold it hot dog style 3. Put 1 tablespoon of water on the towel 4. Take 1 quarter place on towel, pick up towel and fold so no openings and shake towel about 10 times 5.
If towel does no rip add one more quarter 6. Repeat step 5 until towel rips 7. Repeat steps with other brands Safety Do not eat anything that is being tested, make sure the surface is clean before testing absorbency, no spills on the floor so you don't break your leg.
Do not lick the quarters, or throw them. Strength test results Grading scale: We think this because as we researched about Bounty we saw that they had changed their design of their towel and made it thicker and stronger and it worked. Brawny was the runner up, not far from Bounty. It was the thickest of all towels. It was most absorbent, we think because of its how thick the towel is. Essentials Everyday came in third. It wasn't bad or good. It preformed exceptionally well on all tests.
Shoppers value was the worst. It did not preform well in any test except for the oil test. We think this because it is a very thin towel, made out of cheap materials. Conclusion The outcome of the experiment was that Bounty preformed the best and Shoppers Value preformed the worst. The purpose was to find the best towel that was both absorbent and strong. Our hypothesis was Bounty will do the best in both tests, it will absorband clean the best, and will be the strongest paper towel.
Brawny will do exceptionally well at all tests, and will have even scoring. Essentials Everyday and Shoppers Value will both be the worst, and not do well in any test. Our hypothesis was almost spot on. The only thing is that Brawny was a close runner up, and Essentials everyday did exceptionally well. What we found interesting was the Shoppers value did pretty in absorbing the oil. It was also weird that Bounty didn't do very well in absorbing the maple syrup.
Some sources of error, could've been that our measuring was off, our surface wasn't clean enough, we didn't shake our towel enough or too much for the strength test. The point is if you would like a towel to do the job you want get Bounty! If you would like to save money and do an exceptional job get Essentials Everyday.
